Progressive metal band Vola lost nearly all of their equipment after a fire destroyed their storage unit at a Copenhagen facility. While no one was hurt, the blaze wiped out the band’s instruments, touring and recording gear, merch, vinyl, and custom-built systems — much of it irreplaceable — along with essential tools belonging to crew members.
The loss has affected not just the band, but also their live and front-of-house teams’ ability to work. Vola launched a GoFundMe to help rebuild their setup and get back to performing, which is going well! Vola has raised 882,257 Danish Krone at the time of this posting, which is about $138,000 USD.
Now in an update, Vola shared an immense thank you to all their fans and noted that their 2026 shows are a go: “Thank You! We are so fortunate to have you out there looking out for us! To be surrounded by such an incredible community of people who care about Vola is just unbelievable.
“Your donations and messages of support, partners & companies offering gear, so many fans, friends, bands & media outlets sharing our story, and our fantastic team helping us through these daring times, it is just stunning and humbling to experience.
“You all had our back, and we cannot thank you enough. This rollercoaster ride of an experience still has a couple of loops to race through, but we can do that with a smile on our faces, and we will be absolutely fine!
“So, what is next? We can report with great joy that we are fully immersed in rebuilding our live production for the upcoming shows. We are filled with Gratitude, and we cannot wait to channel all of this into playing music for you out there again very soon.
“Next Stop, our first-ever shows in Japan & Australia in February!”
