This 1988 Chevrolet R30 began as a chassis-cab truck and was modified as a “Hot-Shot” fifth-wheel hauler by Cabriolet. It was sold new by North County Motors in Paso Robles, California, and would remain registered in the state until it was purchased by the seller in 2018 and relocated to Tennessee. Power is provided by a 7.4-liter V8 linked to a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission and a dually rear axle. The truck was refinished in white under current ownership and is equipped with a gooseneck fifth-wheel hitch, diamond-plate bed flooring, three fuel tanks, and under-bed storage lockers. Inside, tan and brown upholstery covers the front bucket seats and the rear bench that converts to a sleeping area, and other cab appointments include air conditioning, an overhead console, an aftermarket stereo, a satellite-radio receiver, a Garmin navigation system, and power windows and locks. This R/V-series Chevrolet hauler conversion now shows 55k miles and is offered at no reserve with tire chains, spare parts, original sales documents, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.
The “Hot-Shot” conversion involved fitting the truck with a rear cabin area as well as a utility bed outfitted with a gooseneck fifth-wheel hitch, diamond-plate flooring, side rails, and under-bed storage lockers. Additional details include a chrome grille and front bumper, towing mirrors, clearance lights, an air horn, rear passenger grab handles, and three fuel tanks. The truck was refinished in white by the seller in 2024, and a repaint of the bed area and tool compartments was performed in 2026. Photos showing stages of the paintwork are presented towards the end of the gallery below.

The truck rides on eight-lug front and deep-dish rear wheels, a solid front axle, and a dually rear axle. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.

The forward portion of the cab houses a pair of reclining captain’s chairs upholstered in tan cloth with brown inserts. A wood overhead console is fitted along with air conditioning, a CB radio, an in-dash Pioneer cassette stereo, power windows and locks, and a center console that houses an aftermarket stereo, a satellite-radio receiver, and a Garmin navigation system. Weathertech floor mats protect the tan carpets.

A raised roof is provided for the rear cab area, which features a rear bench that folds flat for use as a sleeping area. Privacy curtains and speakers are also fitted.

Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 4k of which have been added under current ownership.

The 7.4-liter V8 features electronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 230 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque. The seller reports that fluids and filters were changed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission, which was reportedly rebuilt in 2024. Corrosion on the crossbraces beneath the bed is noted, and additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.

Documentation accompanying the truck includes purchase orders and invoices from 1988 as well as service records and manuals.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
